“I will burn the heart out of you.” “I’ve been reliably informed that I don’t have one.” “But we both know that’s not quite true.”

The Head and the Heart dynamic is fairly common among relationships that are not obviously seen as romantic, yet have the most compassion within them. They consist of a person whom in over thinking every action, tends to make the most reckless of choices, which makes it appear as though he/she has ironically not even thought before acting at all. They people have little care for their well-being, and are usually driven on a specific mission. They will do anything to fulfill that need, no matter whom’s feelings they may hurt in the process. This person is what can be considered as The Head. They may come off as cold and emotionless at times, though they tend to have up significant barriers for strong emotional bursts. This is where the next factor comes in, which is The Heart. The Head is what allows The Heart to “beat”, or gives them a purpose that they were lost to before encountering their opposite. They are incredibly loyal, and willing to do things for The Head that they often would not do for themselves. They can at times be one of the few, or in many cases the only counterpart of The Head, and they actually relish in this. They thrive off of their blind dedication. Contrary to The Head, The Heart is a very warm person, and likes to please others. They are risk takers only through their need to make a difference and do the right thing. The Head doesn’t understand this need, much like The Heart does not understand how The Head can contain such apathy. Despite their differences in emotional range, they connect deeply in unspoken levels, and rarely know what to do without each other, even though they will not always voice this love.
